Looked like it to me...his helmet move to his right as he is comming out of the corner...
There are more cyclists up in those canyons on many weekend mornings than high-performance motorcyclists and drivers. Mostly they're up there early and have cleared out before much of the traffic shows up, but not all. It's part of the reality of that road and always has been. There are also horses, hikers and a couple of kids camps in the area. The house just above the curve is regularly used for some kind of movie/tv shoots (I think they do some reality show up there) so there are slow-moving production vehicles coming and going -- less frequently on weekends, but often enough. Dirt roads, driveways, hiking and equestrian trails enter and in some places cross the road. For many, many years it worked out OK. There were lots of unwritten rules that everybody in the area knew you had to follow, and the locals made damn sure you weren't welcome if you broke them. Walking into the Rock Store if you broke the "rules" was a really, really unwelcoming experience. But, common sense has to have a say at some point, for now it seems to work, but what happens when the bicyclist population on highways quadruples? Recently I have been seeing huge groups of really, really slow out of shape bicyclists, not in a central pack, but stretched out for miles creating an extended hazard, and they seem to be completely oblivious to the danger they are creating (e.g. impatient drivers crossing double yellows on blind curves to pass them). So, yeah, it makes for a bit of tension for sure, but I really don't think its going to change anytime soon.

Do what my county did and put speed cameras ever quarter mile........The local neighbors have gotten to the point where they are lobbying for strict speed enforcement for the entire length of Mulholland and some of them have even talked about speed bumps.
