Motorcycle Crashes into Bicycles

She's walking around with loose sweats. Her boobs are hanging out in the fromt, and her butt crack hanging out in the back. Who wouldn't look at that and get distracted? lol... 8)

Anyhow. If u watch this video u can also see that another bicyclist was obstructing the entry point of the turn. So instead of entering the turn wide- ie outside in- the biker was forced to take a narrower line by entering from the middle of the road. That coupled with excessive speed and a decreasing radius turn- he was simply going too fast for safety.

Nothing to do with this incident... But, generally-speaking, bicyclists do want their cake and eat it too. They want to be treated equally as motor vehicles on the road, but then they also want to be treated like pedestrians when it comes to stop signs, cross walks, and traffic lights. Have u EVER seen a bicyclist stop or yield for a pedestrian? Never

From the information today it seems that:

1) It was group ride with 20-25 people. Look at Shara Rich's flickr stream from Saturday and you'll see quite a few other cyclists who showed up immediately after the crash. He has passed them all on his way up.

3) They had a "sag wagon" van (also photographed in Shara's flickr stream) that was behind all the riders, with it's flashers on.

4) They impounded the bike (as shown in Shara's flickr) because the rider couldn't produce registration or insurance.

I'm thinking it's not just target fixation, it's also "paying more attention to the photographers than to the road." Note photographer (with flash!) positioned on the inside right at the center of the turn, also right about where things started going really wrong for this guy.

IMO, anybody intentionally firing a flash into the eyes of drivers and motorcyclists on that curve deserves a major beatdown.

No major injuries, but police investigated and turned the case over to the DA for further action.

This is one of the thing that pisses me off endlessly, speaking as a guy who commutes to work on a bicycle 2-4 days a week. I manage to stop for red lights, stop signs, pedestrians and all the rest and I hate the fact that so many others give me a bad name.

I feel much the same way about a lot of motorcyclists.

most bicycle folk i know always say "we have the same rights to the road as you"

yeah i get it, but when you are on a human powered machine that clogs up traffic and generally pisses cagers and motorcycle people off "just because it's your right"

it was karma for when that bicycle guy blocked traffic trying to turn right so he could go straight and runs stop signs all day long as he has the same rights but the laws do not apply.

i dont know where the bikers head was. that was just stupid. i am just venting and hope the guy is OK but i do hate when bicyclists get in front and block me in "because they can" i have dreamed about driving through them..........

Normally the cyclist would choose to wait in between the lanes in this situation. If its a big 4x4 turning left in the left lane, they may choose to go straight thru the intersection via the right lane, as the bigger vehicle in the other lane may not leave enough safe room for the cyclists to wait in between lanes.

yikes, I've ridden my bike on Mulholland several times, there aer usally a lot of bicyclists and pedestrians. I remember a guy walking his dog in the middle of the rode, right after a blind curve

that is unbelievable! im not much of a cyclist....nor a fan of them being on some of the roads they travel on...in my area we have designated bike trails and paths built and designed for everyone without a motor....and they branch out down the majority of the roads cyclists want to "share"....but the majority of the cyclists...seem to refuse to use them....i live off a fast paced back road that is hilly and full of blind corners and very little passing lanes, in my opinion that is not a good place for a bicycle to be ridden...however...thats just my opinion...im all for sharing things and all....but with some sort of logical sense and safety to the matter... now back to the video....im not sure if i should be upset with the motorcycle or the bike.....they both kinda messed up....one putting them self in a bad/unsafe place to be on a slow moving un protected craft......the other possibly making a mistake/ not focusing on what they should have been.....but i guess thats why the call them accidents..
