Is there any benefit to swapping the whole head? Easier? Better performance?

Definitely a different bike, especially with exhaust and other mods. It's a big enough boost for me to stay happy with my 6R. Just want to get a proper tune. Nothing wrong with Marthy's tune, just not a polished map. It's a ballpark map. Runs fine and get decent mileage. Adv Gear Rev B doesn't work right with FZ6 cams installed unfortunately. Didn't try to run it, but Marthy said it didn't run and he's the expert.
Nah, I didn't loctite my cam bolts and my bolt for my exhaust cam backed out. The cam bolts are in with Green Loctite now. It busted through the top of the head casing. Tried repairing with JB weld, but couldn't get it quite right and kept leaking. Finally manned up and bought a really cheap head on ebay and just did a full head swap. So wasn't by choice, it was by necessity.
Only benefit would be if you port and polish the head. I don't have that kind of cash. Cost is well over a grand to have shop do that I believe. Sterlo has forked out the money and gone all the way on his in Australia.

Might want to look into getting a used set of FZ6R gears. That way you have cams and gears if you every wan to put back to stock.
It really isn't as hard as you might think. If Marthy or someone else can help you with degreeing the cams install won't be bad at all. The trickiest part IMO was getting the throttle bodies off. Had to engineer a way to get at the screws. Now it's pretty easy. I ended up buying a t handle allen set. allens are long and come off the t handle. I used a 1/4 socket (just because it was smaller) and an extension (short and longer one for different screws) and place a socket (not sure on the size, maybe the 1/4" and my t handle end fit into the socket with little movement). Used electrical tape to keep it from falling out. Believe the allen size is 2.5mm or 3mm. There may be better solutions, but it's the only thing that worked for me. If you have a long enough extension and allen bits that may work as well. I have some instructions on my threads for cams and bike stalled thread. You also have to take the throttle plate off first which is on the left side or you won't be able to move the throttle bodies. That was and my own tentativeness is what made the first time kind of slow. I can rip it down now pretty quick. Bag and tag all parts and take pics so you know where to put things. You've taken the tank off and airbox. Might need a new crankcase gasket. You have to take the cover off to crank by hand to get timing aligned. Don't think that gasket was very expensive. Might be able to reuse the original.

I would definitely be interested in a video, also. DC area you say? How far from Woodbridge are you, I've lived in the area for a bit but haven't seen many fz6r riders around?
It's 98whp now with nos, but ran on a different dyno. Going to throw it on the original one to see a better comparison

Yeah, but you don't have to carry around nos to hit those numbers and probably much smoother then a shot of nos.

How are you only getting 80 without the nos with all your mods? Should be pushing mid 80s at least. Without ported heads,but with cams, decent map, exhaust, modded airbox, etc. Bike should push mid 80's on good tune. I want to get mine dyno tuned this summer. No way I'm springing for ported heads though. Would be nice,but out of my range. Should just drop nos in your r6 and really fly.26 shot of nitrous

That's what I've been questioning, because my tune in july gave me 92.4 on the dyno N/A. But I took the bike elsewhere for the nitrous tune. Going to put it back on the original dyno and see what numbers they give me, because with the nos it should be hitting 112hp.
Looking at building a supercharged or turbocharged r6 in the next couple of years hahahahaha

No idea? I never did it because I was afraid to loose mid range. Since the mid range was quite awesome... I never bother going the next step. The swaping parts should be an easy one... will need a good tune right away I would believe

Straight up, there was a 5hp untuned increase with the fz6 bodies. Easy swap over, but the airbox sensor is adifferent plug
