First off i'll add pictures at a later date, but I did this in the dark and in a hurry haha
Tools Needed:
Most of the tools you need are in the tool kit that came with your bike!
Phillips head screwdriver
Allen Key (the smaller one out of the tool kit im not sure of the size)
Wire strippers/cutters (if your going to use the intergrated taillight)
Things you will need just to make your job neater/safer once your finshed:
Wire Nuts (AKA Butt Connectors)
Electrical Tape
Zip Ties
Disassembly:
1.) Remove the rear/front seat
2.) Disconnect the positive battery terminal (your messing with electicity, its not alot but still when splicing wires you want no electricity running through it, don't be stupid)
3.) Remove the passenger grab rail, its held on my 4 allen head screws and has 4 washers under the rail once its off
4.) Loosen the tails side plasics, you can remove if you want, but its not needed, just remove the two plastic rivets towards the back of the front seat and pull both sides out
5.) Remove the 3 phillips head screws holding the tail light in place, you have to go at them from under the rear seat
6.) The tail lights held on a little with some rubber stops, just tug and it will come out, then remove the tail light bulb and set everything aside
Installing the intergrated tail light:
1.) Plug the yellow connector that comes from the tail light into the socket for the stock tail light bulb
2.) Reverse steps 5-1 for reassembly
Hooking up the turn signals
1.) Cut your turn signal wires and strip about a half inch of the sheath
2.) Run the turn signal wires from inside the tail (You should have ran them into the under seat compartment) theres two small holes in the bottom of the tail plastics that I used to run them down, one on the left and one on the right. the YELLOW wire is for the RIGHT turn signal and the BLUE wire is for the LEFT turn signal
3.) (Both sides do the same thing) Take the two exposed wire ends you have and twist them together, then screw a wire nut over them and wrap them in some electrical tape (Please do not leave exposed wires under the black tape)
4.) Tidy up the wires by taping ALL of them into a bundle (MAKE SURE YOU TAPED THE WIRE NUT CONNECTION ALREADY BEFORE YOU WRAP THE WHOLE BUNDLE TOGETHER!)
5.) Now with this step I don't know if everybody can do it the same, but I ran a zip tie through some holes in my fender eliminator and then strapped my bundle of wire to the back of my eliminator so that its out of sight
Install took me about 45 minutes and was probably the easiest thing i've done to my bike so far.
I'll update with pictures once it stops raining!
