Hi all, I'm Brenda (aka lytehouse). I joined the FZ6 site in Nov. 2007 and the FZ1 site in June 2010.
Currently, I run the Bike of the Month contests on both sites and I had mentioned to Admin about starting it over here if members wanted it.
So I am volunteering to do that, if you all would like.

Sure, if the other Admin's are willing and you can make it happen. The problem with the BOTM here is simple lack of interest. I pushed it pretty hard a year or so ago and then I too lost interest.

It's a shame, because I think the BOTM and the calendar are pretty darn cool ideas. If you have a plan and the ability, and the Admin's are with you? You've got my vote.

Fantastic! But hold onto it for a month or so....gotta get all the ducks in a row first and I was thinking we'd start fresh with January 2015....so the gallery will go up in December (?)

There you go, Lytehouse. Imagine working at it and finally getting BOTM and nobody cares. Not even the admins care enough to put the pick on the front page like they're supposed to.

That's a really, big-time ouch for latony007. It shouldn't have happened. When that happens, who the hell cares who the BOTM is? Why invest any effort into it at all?

I'm not an Admin, I cannot change the picture myself. And I'll do my best to get it running again.
I was thinking we'd get rolled out fresh in the new year, so the gallery for Jan. 2015 will go up in December...unless I get a lot of feedback asking for otherwise......

Well, no. The site is going to get ONE picture a month anyway. There is no need for someone to specifically work on that.

What I was hoping for was someone who could market the BOTM, generate interest, keep it lively and make it an exciting feature of this site.

The calendar is an offshoot of the BOTM. It simply features the bikes that won and generates revenue for the site. As well being really cool may I add. I bought one and actually framed a picture from it. It's on the wall over my computer.

We don't really need someone to just say they are in charge of it. We need someone to TAKE charge of it. I was kind of hoping that was you.

Here's my thoughts: Make a plan. You want to generate interest. You want to keep that interest going all year long, so people want to post their pics for BOTM. There has to be an incentive to do so.

You need an admin who will work with you to keep the front picture updated. The person responsible for the calendar is no longer on this site.

It's a great incentive to post pictures for BOTM, and also generated much needed revenue. Keep the cost low, in limited quantities. One either jumps on it or it is gone.

I loved my calendar. Every month was a beautiful bike. I've mentioned that I've actually framed one picture from it. One change from the old, though: 6Rs only. That's what we are here for, and that's what we want to see.

Also another old rule was no Photoshop. My opinion, but toss it out. I want a great image. If it's Photoshopped, then what the heck, it's going in a calendar and I just want it look cool.

Let them loose. Drum up the interest and let them do what they will, so long as it's a 6R. A perfect shot with a digital SLR, or a Photoshop that is astonishing? Doesn't matter. It's the image of the bike that matters.

Wow. Cool stuff. Awesome potential. Take it and run with it.

Nah, Maadi! I too appreciate every post, every lurker, every reader on this site regardless of what they ride of even if they don't ride but want to.

I'm talking about a calendar, though. If I'm going to purchase a FZ6R calendar, I expect to see FZ6Rs. Not Gixers or GoldWings or any other bike.

Since the calendar is made from the BOTM, it's gotta be 6Rs. If the calendar is being tabled, then OK. It doesn't really matter what bike it is, it's about the picture.

I'd rather not go down that road, though. I have no interest there, and it's all about generating interest. If the BOTM turns out to be a Street Triple....

It may be an awesome picture, but I frankly wouldn't care. Me personally, I would once again lose interest right there.
