Looks like some direct competition for the fz8, but being its probably based off the gsx-r 750 it would probably murder it on the track!!!

Back in the day (1985) Yamaha introduced the FZ750 to the world except the USA. I remember on fellow from Califorina who traveled to B.C. Canada bought a new FZ and took it back home. Then some how the US Gov't found out about it and it was a big write up in one of the big motorcycle mags,,I can't remember which one but I did buy it. This poor fellow had hell to pay for "smuggling" in a non D.O.T. approved bike. The kicker,,,,,,, the FZ750 was part of Yamaha's 1986 line up.

So.... just buy an FZ8 and be happy? Yea, sounds good to me. I haven't looked up the specs, but I don't see anything more appealing about this bike. Looks more or less the same.
