So my wife and I spent the day at the Long Beach Convention Center at the International Motorcycle Show. I was in heaven!!! :steve::rockon: I posted up an album HERE with the pictures that turned out. It was kind of tough to get good pictures. First off the lighting was kind of strange. Strong enough the flash didn't always want to go off but too dark to get good exposure sometimes. Plus people there were pretty inconsiderate about not walking in front of you while you're trying to take pictures. So it got to a point I just stopped trying. :banghead:
They had a bunch of actual race bikes form AMA Superbike, FIM World Superbike, and MotoGP. You could sit on just about everything out there except the race and show bikes. I got to sit on all the new Yamahas as well as Ducati, Hondas, and all the other main manufacturers bikes. I was disappointed that neither Aprilia or MV Agusta were there. I would have loved to throw a leg over one of those beauties. One thing that was confirmed though was that the FZ6R is absolutely the best bike for me right now. The riding position on pretty much every one of the "SuperSport" bikes from all the manufacturers (R1, R6, CBR600RR, ZX10R, etc...) was just too aggressive for my back and neck as they are right now. Maybe in the future if the doctors can get my spine all fixed up I could think about getting something more like that. Because I could tell that position just lends itself to cornering so much better than our upright geometry and it'd be so much fun. But just not for now.
There were tons of vendors there and a few large stores setup with some really good prices. If I hadn't just spent a load on Christmas, I would have come home with new jackets for both myself and my wife along with boots and riding pants.
Overall it was a great show and well worth the hour and 45 minute drive up. Enjoy the pics.
