honestly i look at it like this.....
the FZ6R is the perfect bike for what it is ment to be...a fun and competent beginners bike. no more, no less.
one of the most valuable lessons i learned in my years of road racing and autox is that the vast majority of people who own high performance...
i actually picked this up today during work. the general summary of the article is similar to the others i have read and is as follows......
its no R6 but it is an excellent beginners bike that can still be entertaining to more skilled riders while being prettier to look at than the fz6.
just out of curiousity, which can did you get? carbon fiber, aluminum or titanium?
personally i want the carbon fiber one. i think it matches the bike the best (at least the black one).
well the performance figures for the SV650 are 1/4 mile 11.82 sec @ 106.02 mph (170.62 km/h) & 0-60 mph 3.65 sec
the kawi 650r clocks in at 12.06 sec @ 108.79 mph (175.08 km/h) 3.84 sec for 0-60.
admittedly our bike isn't the same as these (it has more power/a bit less torque and it weighs...
its possible but unless you are a featherweight, i doubt it will skyrocket the front end when you hammer it unless it occurs during some very specific circumstances. i weigh in around 240 (being 6'2" and built like a bear doesn't help =( ) and even nailing it in first won't bring the front end...
its a bit of a pain in the ass to get the filter cartridge off even with the yamaha wrench. mine was a little tight so i had to use a pair of oversized plyers to twist it off. you do have to take off the side fenders to get at it.
if you were to lower the seat to the stock position it would straighten you up a bit. as to the exact amount, i have no idea. for what its worth i'm 6'2" and the stock setting is very comfortable for me and i don't feel cramped.
