G'Day from a newbie in every sense of the word

Well the time has come to say goodbye, I learnt a lot from this forum about motorcycle maintenance, mods and riding techniques! Thanks to all that contributed to making this a great forum for a noob to learn the ropes! I purchased my FZ brand new with 1km on the clock, traded her in with just...

    thinking about upgrading.

I finally said good bye to my FZ last month :(, after a long time tossing up between bikes and lots of test rides it came down to two bikes; The Ninja was a surprise and due to the type of riding I do it nearly got across the line, but passion always wins :D:D:D and I became a Suzuki fan boy...

Ear buds / Helmet Speakers - Any Issues with law enforcement

In Aus we have the one ear bud rule, no ear buds for learners, Very loosely enforced as far as I am aware, In some states here they are booking people for GoPro's attached to Helmets and tinted visors. If you're acting like a knob, well then, you more than likely deserve a once over by the...

    thinking about upgrading.

im in the same situation atm latony, I had my eyes for ages on the VFR800, was only uncertain if I would have the shits after a few months on the 800 and wish I had of gone the 1200. I live in the middle of nowhere so no ride days for me, local bike shops stock dirt and thats it. finally got...

    for long distance rides

everyone raises more or less the same points and issues! I live in the middle of nowhere so all my rides are long! essentials in order; 1. Quality riding gear and quality helmet, the less wind noise the better! 2. Better screen (I run a double bubble, 6ft3 & it helps heaps) 3. Heated...

    Middleweight Intermediate Sportbike Shootout: CBR650F v Ninja 650 ABS v FZ6R

a "buzzy" engine is a design "flaw" and is not impacted by place of manufacture. If the Honda was out when I got my FZ I would have more than likely purchased it, although its not LAMS in Aus and the other two are. Very surprised the FZ won but very happy and couldnt agree more...

    FZ6R restricted vs unrestricted power

DO NOT DO THAT! You dont need to.... just bend it back a little with a screwdriver / long nose pliers ;) Then you can bend it back if required. It doesnt have to be moved much for it to not interfere with the play aswell. As for the topic, I am at the same crossroads, and was even thinking...

    My Tasmanian Accident Tale

So so lucky (and unlucky) Bert to have been able to type this after that! Those wire guard rails are scary items when your on a bike! Good to see you back on the saddle mate!

    Bad Experience at Dealership Today

Having worked through Retail and then Customer Contact Centres etc etc this type of attitude and approach should be reported to a manager or owner ASAP. I would have asked the Lady in question to get her boss and then we would have a nice chat in front of her about how her opinions in sales...

    Anyone have Hazard Lights?

to retrofit the Hazards on a US bike shouldnt be hard. All the wiring etc is in there, you may only need to source the button and the Relay, most of it should be plug and play. Yamaha and other manufacturers wont remove all the hardware behind something just because a certain market has no...

    Tires

I changed my tyres on the weekend for the first time, ended up going with the Angel GT's. I traveled some 500km's to get them, hit some twisties after their fitment and was the first time I have scraped my pegs, very confidence inspiring. Loved them all the way home too, mix of Hume Hwy and...

    Trying out the t30 battleaxe

Are the Q3's etc a multi compound tyre aswell? Most of my riding unfortunately is straight, straight long roads, no corners anywhere :(

    Omg I did it again!

wow! what an amazing win! I wouldn't know wtf to do! For those of us in Aus, whats the tax part you boys always cry about? ;) Is it sales tax or a yearly registration tax or the like? Over here I would take the Busa, easy mile eater! But If I was set on the FJR I would do the same as your...

instructions for how to derestrict yamaha XJ6N-L FZ6R

Not a bad write up Luke for the state of QLD, and although the LAMS scheme is now a National Scheme so the same "laws" are meant to apply to each state they are worded a little differently. Im still a little confused as to "why?" bother? I understand your reasoning's for going through this...

Instructions on how to Derestrict your FZ6R (10 Steps )

part number is the same for all bikes 09-14, so that indicate the throttle cable is the same, so whilst it may be harder for some to modify, it's all the same.:)

Instructions on how to Derestrict your FZ6R (10 Steps )

before this turns into a mass shit fight of misunderstanding...:catfight::catfight: The Unrestricted plate still has a "stop" on it. The only difference is it allows 100% throttle movement unlike our Aussie delivered bikes. as for not having the stop on there if you "hack" it off...
