It's illegal in some states to share lanes (ie VA). Not that you did anything wrong. Just be aware of the laws of the state you are riding in. Not much you could do in this case either way though.
I have a feeling it's one of those things where certain people are going to hate it no matter what kind of rider you are and how responsible you are. You can be ATGATT, but throw a mohawk on your helmet and people are going to assume you're an asshat. The real question is... do you care? A lot...
I was under the impression that not using the clutch would round off the dogs prematurely, probably leading to a tranny rebuild much quicker. Not a problem FOR YOU if you plan on selling the bike at 10k miles I suppose, but maybe so for the poor guy that buys it from you. I'm just a newbie...
Looks like 270 South at the spur... isn't it 55 there? And anybody that's ever driven the spur knows it's merge hell. You were going 80. Just playing devil's advocate here.
