hi I just ordered a TBR exhaust system along with a power commander and dynojet Autotune my question is do I just need an o2 eliminator or do I need ais block off plates?
Bert-Aus would be the one to ask since he has the same Australian spec version. He doesn't have TBR, but have the PCV or JBP and aftermarket exhaust (Marthy Viper). I believe Marthy put an O2 bung in the exhaust when he built it for him. Marthy builds his own exhaust using the stock headers...
Are you getting a FULL TBR system or just the slip on?
If you are getting the FULL TBR system you will be removing your cat you needn't bother re-installing the O2 sensor.
I understand the
Dynojet Autotune is the
PCV equivilent of the O2 sensor,
Sorry I dont know as to whether or not you remove the AIS (install Block off plates 'BOP') or not.
One could assume that the packaging/ instructions on the Autotune will inform you of this.
As I understand it, the stock ecu requires the back pressure created from the cat & stock exhaust
to regulate emissions, a shot of air is allowed into the header of exhaust via the AIS to burn of excess fuel in the exhaust chamber at the cat.
If you remove the cat, the stock O2 sensor will be reading emissions that are being spurted out the rear prior to the AIS mixed air getting to it and thus no real benefit.
Most with an afternarket exhaust install the BOP's to reduce back-firing.
I cant comment re: those who have installed the Autotune as well
Side Note: recomend that you tape up the electric connection for the O2 sensor and keep the in a safe place for any future use!
...Apparently they are quite costly to replace
My Viper system was built by myself & my father inlaw (parts & info supplied by Marthy)
and I run it without an O2 sensor or Dynojet Autotune,
but I do use a PCV.
With advice from Marthy it is running pretty sweet at present, the throttle response is perky and the sound is fantastic.
Back end doesnt sound like an afterburner anymore (previous mapping was running very rich)
Either way keep us all posted as to your findings re: the Autotune system
