Will I need a PCV/JBP if I have an o2 sensor?

Hey Guys,

Just finished my r6 headers mod and I'm contemplating whether or not to buy a fuel controller. I had a PCV on my '10 model and I didn't really notice any huge gain.

My question is, that if I decide to weld an o2 sensor bung in the r6 headers and use my stock o2 sensor, is there much need in getting an expensive PCV/JBP?

I know that there are the benefits in getting the PCV/JBP but is an o2 sensor alone sufficient enough to sort out the A/F Ratio?

I don't know that the PCV offers much of a HP gain, but with the right map it can improve MPG and throttle response. PCV can adjust map for each gear which is what Marthy's Adv Gear Maps do. JBP can't do that but holds up to 10 maps. Really if you think about it though, unless your developing new maps to test who would ever have 10 maps. I have Adv Gear Rev B loaded right now with my Viper exhaust. Congrats btw on the new exhaust. What can did you use?

I used a Carbon Fibre GYTR Shorty. It's much louder than a TBR and has more of a GP scream than a TBR tone.

I understand that PCV is better than JBP but can I get away with not using either and just use the o2 sensor?

That is usually subject to debate. Many run aftermarket cans with no PCV/JBP and claim it has no ill effects.
