Ok. That's weird. If it were me, here's what I'd check:Have stored the fz6r about 3 months ago and decided to make a mid winter pit stop with her only to find I have power to the instrument cluster but tach unoperational and no digital display
Has anyone incountered this before?
1. Charge on the battery. Good?
2. I'd be thinking something I did putting my bike up for the winter unplugged a plug. Sounds stupid, but no. Go back in your mind and think about what you did to winterize your ride. There's a lot of electronics on the bike, and a loose plug is all it takes. The same is true for a broken wire.
3. This comes from my experience with older bikes. The voltage regulator on older bikes is prone to failure. Did you try to jumpstart your bike with a car? If you did, it may have burned it out.
4. Ground. If you removed the wires from the battery, you might have missed a ground. Also there might be a ground wire that is just loose. If I remember having all the plastic off correctly, the chassis ground is on the right side of the bike, sitting on it. Make sure it's tight.
Once again, that's all it would take, to screw with the electronics.
Electrical problems are the worst to track down. The upside is, you didn't have a problem when you put her up. You've got one now. 99% chance it was something that happened when you put her up, or took her out, given a good battery.
