Where to Buy a Front Fork Assembly for 2009 FZ6R

My girlfriend just laid over her 2009 Yamaha FZ6R today. Luckily she is okay, but the bike has seen better days. The frame is okay, but the front fork assembly needs to be replaced. Are there any options other than OEM that don't cost an arm and a leg?

Send it to a custom shop and have an R6 front end put on. They have to change bearings among other things to make it work but it would certainly be worth it. The R6 fork will be much easier to find used as well. If I remember correctly a few years ago someone did the conversion on here. Might be worth searching the forum for more info.

Sorry to hear about the off, but glad you are saying she is ok.

You could go for a different fork assembly from a different bike and do other modifications. If you just want easy simple replacement. Check out Stadiumyamaha.com or bikebandit.com.... Go to bike bandit especially if you belong to AMA for the 10% off and free shipping over $99 I believe!

I would check with your dealer on their price they can get, then see what the part would be online. Then if cheaper, get online and just bring it in.

If you have any thoughts of suspension upgrade, this would be the time also to get the new springs and oil since wouldnt need to take the whole assembly apart to change.
