whatever
im running rottela 15w/40 t the oil is 12.00 a gallon so i can change the oil more offen. and i did some research and the oil is better then some high qualty oils that are sold today.
I was planing on using the rottela oil, but the manual says not to use diesel oil.... that seems like might be a problem
pretty sure the rottela is a diesel oil
That's what i'm running too. Rotella 5-40 Syth. No complain, the bike run great. Almost 2000 miles on that oil and still look like new.Amsoil 10-40 synthetic is awesome for the big money spenders out there. Motul 300V is as well.
I'm running Rotella T 15w-40 HeavyDutyEngineOil right now. Might try the 5-40 Rotella synthetic next.
sorry, I missed this post... at the slight chance of being "flamed"... hahaha, we don't see it on this forum.... I did use that for my first few... it was available locally and is fine.I'm thinking about using Valvoline 10W-40 Motorcycle oil at $4.45 a quart at my 600 mile service then switch to full synthetic at 4,000 miles. Anyone use this oil before?
Not sure exactly what your asking, but the break-in time is the first 1000 miles. After the first 600, you change the oil and filter. 0-600 miles, no prolonged throttle above 5800 RPM. 600-1000 miles, no prolonged throttle above 7000 RPM. As far as what oil to use....that's the long debate. Look up "oil" in the search and you'll find some discussions on it.does the "Break in" time whats listed in the owners book as the 1000-1200 mile area??? or something totally dif... Running Mobil 1 10w-40 motercycle oil and haven't had any issues.. Will be trying to find somewhere close by to get something a little better next time but when the funds are low this was fine.
I'm a big Mobile1 fan too. It's all I use in my cars, oil and filter. I was planning to use the Mobile1 bike oil too but I got convince from all the reviews to use Rotella 5-40 full synth. I gave it a try and I am very satisfied. After 3500 miles (4000 mile tune up) the oil was still looking in very good shape and didn't really consume any, the oil level was still where it was when I fill it up. I use the Mobile oil filter too M1-110. I like the fact that this filter is just a bit bigger than the stock one so I can put a bit more oil. :iconbeer:I've run mobil1 in my s2000 and currently in my NSX. I intend to continue with what I know works. still researching filters though. I've only found a couple of comparisons and not only were they not thorough they seemed to somewhat contradict each other.

Does anyone buy oil filters locally? where can you get them? Do you know what filter brand, model # & where to buy?from what i can glean the m1-110 is one of the better filters as far as media amount and build. it seems that there are 10-15 different filters that fit and are the proper pressure spec though.
I, and I know a few others, get the purolator pure one... it works... 24k and running strong, price is right, and all the research I did 24k miles ago says it is perfect...Does anyone buy oil filters locally? where can you get them? Do you know what filter brand, model # & where to buy?
