What type of cleaners are you guys using?

Someone recently turned me onto Honda Polish which IMO is a great polish. I have been using it exclusively lately with good results. Besides the Honda polish I use goo gone for tough wheel stains ect & use generic chain cleaner(whatever is on sale).

I use JonK's pledge trick and love it.Its cheaper than a motorcycle specific cleaner and works great for bugs/dirt.

I was using Repsol last summer, REALLY good stuff but expensive.I have a tiny bit left so I'm going to try to give my wheels a spring cleaning with whats left.I'm not sure how pledge will do against chain oil overspray.

Just like the car, occasional wax, and light baths in between, usually a series of damp towels with Motorex bike wash, then rinse towels, and dry towels. Meguiars Quik Wax spray is also a great between wax dressing for plastic and paint to keep bugs easier to remove, the silicone based polishes are another good method (e.g. the Honda Polish).

Occasionally I use treatments on the vinyl and plastics to keep them from aging as well. I don't obsess over minor paint chips and scratches on my machines, I consider them normal patina, I don't try to polish them out with compounds and what not, just keep them as clean as you can and enjoy driving and riding.

I have been afraid to use windex on the plastics although I know people do use it.

Turtle Wax Ice is pretty sweet. Can go on anything.

Maxima chain clean is the best grease remover I've ever used. Use it on the chain every 600 miles when she gets a full wash. If you get oil on the exhaust and/or oil pan when doing an oil change you it cleans that off brilliantly too. I use McGuires car wash soap to wash the bike, and Pledge as a cleaner and "wax." I agree with Anthony that regular waxes are just a pain in the butt and not needed when you can use Pledge to do a better job. I've used some of the other cleaners you guys use and they all do work very well, but cost 3 times what Pledge does.

The wheels get Pledge too. I use PJ1 Blue Label chain lube which never flings off on the wheels so no need for anything stronger there. I will use brake cleaner on the front brakes occasionally just to keep everything nice and clean in there. Just keep it off paint.

This is really making me want to go out and give Gretchen the cleaning she's due for. I'm supposed to be resting after an epidural though. Might have to go wipe her down at least while watching Fastest!

Use Motorex 9000 bike wash for main washing of bike and scrubbing of wheels. Works good and spreads really well so doesnt take much. Just have to prevent it from drying.

Then something like 1x per month I will use a high quality wax on the painted parts. I then also use Motorex Plastic protector on all the black plastic parts of the fairings, fender, engine parts. Other than washing the seats, dont know a good way to protect those. I know you dont want to put armorall vinyl protectant on them, The Plastic protector works good but for about 50 miles it is kinda slick so have to be very carefull.

uses whatever chain cleaner is on sale as well, have used a variety of car wash products as well. I use an arisol window cleaner and lucas quick mist between washes to get the bugs off and shine it up.

I use the mothers quick detailer spray for inbetween washes, meguiars car wash for washes, dupont motorcycle degreaser for the chain and wheels, and chain wax for the chain. wd-40 works well on the wheels also.
