Tips for reducing wind noise

Hey guys,

I'm after some tips to reduce the level of wind noise picked up in my videos. My GoPro is currently mounted on top of my helmet. This hasn't been a problem for me in the past but the FZ6R is MUCH quieter than my last bike. Plus the fairing probably increases the air flow past the cam.

Any tips greatly appreciated! I always use the waterproof casing...

older models sucked... people would put a piece of tape over the mic input to cut it down quiet a bit...

if it's a new model that has an external mic... run it inside your helmet!

The waterproof housing is near silent for me. Maybe use that with the slotted door on the back so you get some noise but no direct airflow?

I've got the 3+ Silver edition. Internal mic may be the way to go, although I'll try using the chesty first to see if that helps.
To be clear, I'm not worried about the level of wind noise I hear (I do wear ear plugs), just what is picked up by the GoPro

yep, top of the helmet may be the biggest issue... but if you still want a pov, not just straight ahead all the time, tape over the mic port is a simple, cheap way and you can see if it helps... if not they list a very few other tips

Go naked.

Lack of clothing "might" cut down on the wind noise. I don't recommend it for a "spirited" ride.

Just something you've got to do once. It probably won't effect the noise on the cam, though.
