email? Excel?I've searched in the forum and on Google and can't find the stock gear ratio specifications for the FZ6R. Anyone know what they are, primary, 1 - 6, and final drive?
Yep, thanks Gil . . and Marthy . . this is what I was looking for. Don't know why I couldn't find it listed anywhere like I can for virtually any other bike! Aahhh, perhaps because it's exactly the same as the FZ6. :zombie:Manual says;
Primary reduction ratio 86/44 (1.955) Spur gear
Secondary reduction ratio 46/16 (2.875) Sprockets rear and front
1st 37/13 (2.846)
2nd 37/19 (1.947)
3rd 28/18 (1.556)
4th 32/24 (1.333)
5th 25/21 (1.190)
6th 25/24 (1.083)
Is this what you mean?
Wanted to compare gear ratios with other bikes because of this. I thought gear ratios and running rpm's might have something to do with it? My mileage sucks! Just did a 116 mile run, 80% county roads at average 50 mph, 20% through towns etc.. I only managed 32 mpg, while my buddy on a new F650GS (800cc engine!) got 47 mpg on the same ride with me. This is all calculated as mp(us)g for your comparison purposes. This just doesn't sound right to me. Gearing is stock sprockets, I'm 5'9" and 170 lbs and 60+ years so I sure don't ride it like I stole it. Any ideas, or is this just normal for some FZ6R's?Being my oh-so-irritating, curious self: Why are you asking? Thinking of changing something up, or just an argument with a drinking buddy? Because, you know, inquiring minds want to know...
Aaah, OK. I think you've got the right idea with what you posted here:Wanted to compare gear ratios with other bikes because of this.
