Like CtrAltDel said, look in the tool bag under your rear seat. You'll find a thin short cable with two loops on each end. That goes through your helmet's D rings and then the loops slip over the thin bar that's parallel to the cross brace under the passenger seat.
Iv used mine but I hate that thing.
My disc lock came with a good cable lock for my helmet, but I loaned it to my cousin because he bought a fixer upper bike and his mom leaves they're garage open alot.
Steal a ninja get a treadmill free I guess lol.
But I hate leaving my lid hanging on that tiny cable.
It looks like good scissors will get through it lol.
I miss my cable
You just don't have the right set up then. I pop open my rear seat, and I have the cable stored with the loops already on the bar towards the base and the cable folded in half, with the end tucked under the rubber built in bungee that holds the tool bag in place. So all I do is slide the cable out from under the bungee, slide one loop off the bar, slip that loop through my D rings and back onto the bar, then put the seat back on and I'm done. From the time I get off my bike it takes about 15 seconds.
When you're ready to go, reverse the process. Much less work than carrying my helmet around a store or restaurant or whatnot. I like both my hands free and/or not having to look for a safe place to set it down.
Has anybody ever actually had their helmet stolen? Maybe its due to there being so many riders here but no one has ever touched mine. If I go into a store, I just hang it on the right side passenger peg and close the shield (don't need bird poop or bugs in there).
Maybe at a school or a club I could see an issue with jerks and jokers but I've never seen a motorcycle helmet for sale in a pawn shop nor had a "guy on the street" try to sell me one.
@ work I take it in and hang with jacket and backpack on coat hooks due to overnight dew/rain
Most other places I pop the seat and hang'er up. I know if someone really wanted to steal it they prolly could, but then again...If someone really wanted to steal my bike it wouldn't be that hard either.
In small towns and when I will be able to see the bike (like in front of a subway) I just hang it from the throttle side bar.
