Question about ABS on FZ6R ?

It's going to cost you a lot of money if it's even possible to add it to this bike.
I'd rather just keep my bikes simple (no abs/traction control) and learn the skills and abilities to drive the bike itself without relying on assistance.
I get that attitude, and the sense of pride of "handling your bike." But at the same time... The only times a newer rider will be able to "hone" those skills would be in a situation where they'd need to use it. So maybe he's trying to avoid that situation. Which makes sense.
And as far as money goes. It's the argument of whether you should buy expensive protective gear.

So instead of becoming better he is going to use "assistance" where he would normally be force to test his skill?
That's the only reason why I don't like all these "assistants", where a rider would normally tests their boundaries, they can now rely on the bike's computer systems to help them out of a jam that they would normally learn a valuable lesson from.
Virtually impossible to retrofit ABS systems to vehicles that they are not designed for. There are just too many variables, and too many sensor inputs required that the bike just doesn't have and isn't designed to accommodate.
As to whether or not it's necessary, pretty much anybody who's done a real study of the matter has concluded that it does make a difference in accident avoidance for even the most experienced riders/drivers. There are situations where you just can't react fast enough, or even if you can, you can't perform the actions necessary to avoid a crash. (Specifically the rapid pulsing of brakes to provide maximum possible stopping power, while avoiding a skid.) Whether or not it is going to matter to you depends a lot on the conditions you ride in.

in my country where I live and drive is too complicated to drive smooth and calm,so u have to brake almost in every moment,sometimes hard cuz of stupid other drivers of the car do,sometimes due to some animals crossing streets,and we dont have any highways believe it or not,thats the reason i am asking about putting some kind of ABS from fz6 or xj6 or any kind so i would be safe and cool during driving.thnx ppl

Honestly, if you're going to be in traffic all the time, a sportbike is probably not the right place to put your money. They can be used in stop-and-go traffic, but they are not much fun, and really not optimized for that kind of riding.
I'd add that ABS is probably not going to make that huge a difference in those situations in the first place. It is optimized to assist you in rapid stops on slick surfaces, where you might otherwise lose control due to a skid. It can't hurt much in other situations, but if you're counting on it to save you when the problem is that your conditions don't allow sufficient reaction time to stop, then you're eventually going to be unsatisfied. A small, lightweight bike or scooter that is optimized for swerving out of the way is likely to be a far better idea.
The Yamaha website for Kosovo (here, I think) says that the XJ6 is available with ABS there. Isn't that basically what you're looking for?

To those who realise there is a world outside the United States, most of these markets sell this bike as standard with ABS (Australia) or as an option (Europe).
Lucky the FZ6R isn't a pure Sports bike then and probably a great compromise between comfortable commuting and spirited riding.
Yes it would be possible. But the cost and effort involved would be prohibitive.

Didn't notice he was outside the US, or my answer would have been slightly different.
Still, I don't see the point of even a semi-sportbike in a place like Kosovo, unless he's planning on some longer-distance travel around Europe. There's a reason that small bikes and scooters are so popular in some of the world's more congested metro areas. They just make sense, whereas a 600cc sport/standard makes a whole lot less sense in a place like Rome, or for that matter Boston or San Francisco. Even if you avoid accidents, old-world cities and the kind of traffic you encounter in them really burn through the clutch and brakes.
I just bought and fz6r 2009 from canada,so now is late for ordering an new one.

It depends on what you want. Although I see the practicality of a micro-bike or scooter in a congested area, my naked FZ1 is downright awesome when I go to Toronto. It's all in what you want out of a bike.
Well, if you've got it on it's way already, then there's not much you can do but enjoy it.
It will probably be less than optimal driving in Pristina traffic, Probably better the further you get out of town. ABS certainly could help in slick conditions, but even if you could figure out how to retro-fit a system, it would probably cost you as much to do it as you spent on the bike in the first place.
Hope you don't have issues getting it registered. The North American models don't exactly meet European specs. Hopefully they won't enforce those precisely where you are. It can be a major pain in some other countries.
I think this has been brought up before, but I'll add it again anyways...
ABS will only kick in when you have need for it... in most day-day situations, you can still push the brakes right up to the limit and ABS will not kick in... so in all actuality, you could use it to see how far you can push the brakes before the ABS kicks in
IMHO, for street riding, I am all for all the technological assistance I can get (ABD or traction control)... oil, gravel, sand, etc can make your tires break grip before you know it...
