So I just got my 2009 White FZ6R. She has 4000 miles, cost me 4300$ otd, and is in just about perfect condition without a single scratch or any damage whatsoever. I have named her "Rukia", which is a character from a show called Bleach, who the bike reminded me of almost immediately. This is going to be her dedicated thread for everything I do to her.

Mods ordered will have :) next to them. Mods completed will have :cool: to signify completion. There is no order to this list. Enjoy!

Cool list. Get the frame sliders first to protect her some. Don't forget to ride in between all that modding :Sport:

8 will look cool but you actually start losing some night visability. 5 or 6 would be as high as i would suggest. I have a 5k and love it.

Yea I'll go with 5 or 6k then, probably the 6k as a good in-between.

5-6k = best visibility
5k = day light
6k = day light with a hint of blue :cool:
 
Congrats on the bike. You have a nice list of future mods, but like someone else mentioned you should get the frame sliders first.
 
Look at the projection beam headlight instead of HID if you can..

THere are other threads about this, including quite a few questions I have asked on it. It is more expensive $150 vs about $40 for DDM and more work to install.. But I got it and finished testing everything including fit. Tonight/tomorrow night (if have time) or this weekend I will reseal it and remount everything. I was nervous as heck but was not a bad project.. Hardest part for me was prying apart the casing. I would recommend the 5k.. Seems to give a good light output.

You could probably save a bit of $ for the time being and hold off on the air fitler till you get the new exhaust or when you hit (I think) 16k miles is when the recommended replacement is (whichever comes first).

For the rim tape - put up a thread asking about Tapeworks coupons.. Unfortunately I lost mine while packing for move to new house - If find I will post it, but when order you get a coupon for I think 10% off.. See if anyone has this coupon to give up to you.

Battery Tender Jr or so.. Nice to have for many reason (help battery when you are draining it by testing your lights etc.. That little connector cable that goes on the battery is nice for a 12v adapter that can either be a phone charger (besides your usb one), or what I like using it for - plugging in my air pump to increase tire PSI when needed.

6k for sure! And I'd suggest some trex spools as well so that you could work on your bike more efficiently. Or use a paddock stand. (I prefer the spools)

Ohh yeah.. DEFINATELY recommend those!! Good catch Jponza!!
You will think this is the best money spend when you clean/lube the chain.
I would actually probably recommend these and front/rear (minimum rear) stands before you do any other mod!!

Ya I got myself a triple tree fork stand! Awesome awesome awesome!
 
Someone wanna explain the TRex spools for me? The spools are bought and installed on the bike, and they're used with a stand underneath to prop the bike up, correct?

Yes they are just point for the stands to more easily grab. Also serve as sliders in the event of a drop. There are stands that don't require them. I don't think I am gonna add them to my bike. I do need to get a rear stand.
 
HID and also once you get your exhaust I would definately get a PCV!

You mount the brackets and spool just ahead of your sprocket about. That makes it easier to lift up your bike via the spools, rather than you using a swingarm lift for the stand. Many stands will do both for you swingarm/spool, but the spool will be much more secure and steady. The T-Rex was a bit hard to mount (tight fit around swingarm) and you want to make sure that they are both even when putting them on.. if you get this screwed up and need to move the bracket after you squeezed it on, get ready for some work to remove it:)) Definately worth the money though.
 
The spools I'm finding on Motorcycle Superstore don't have FZ6R as an option, however the R6 is available. Will they fit the FZ6R?
