Dunno if I put my two cents into this thread or not, but my mileage has almost always been shitty. My first tank was in the neighborhood of 45 or 50mph. I had an exhaust by the time I finished my second tank of gas. I love the way the bike sounds and feels and can't keep the throttle shut, probably the reason I've never seen a drop over 36mpg since.
My thought is none of us got this bike for the sole purpose of saving money on gas. Wouldn't you rather be in the right gear and rpm to dodge a wayward cager than to save yourself a dollar or two at the pump anyway?
(Just playing Devil's advocate, I'd love to ride the same way and get another 10-20mpg for sure!!!! 99% of the time I don't give a shit about gas mileage, I enjoy the ride)
I agree, but most of the time I'm getting in the 40's. Once I can commute to work regularly I'll be curious as to my mileage. It's 40 miles round trip to work. Between rain and chilly *** mornings I've only brought her to work one day. I wish the weather would stay somewhat consistent. Plenty of good riding weather, just not riding at 6am and freezing my huevos off for 20 miles. LOL! Mother nature must still be PMSing!
