Most if not all said that Cycle gear's Bilt helmets are junk and not truly DOT rated inside and out.

as to dot/snell, most helmets that say they are, probably are... imagine the lawsuits that would follow if they weren't. Mostly what you pay for in higher "quality" helmets, is features, weight, and ergos... if a lower price helmet fits your needs, go for it... but once you try on a higher "quality" helmet, ride with it, you'll know why it is 2-4X the price.

I agree. And yet, at the same time, I read the news and there's a story about GM having faulty ignition switches in cars that led to at least 13 deaths, resulted in 2.6 million recalls, AND they knew about for at least 10 years.

They do the math - what will cost us more, the lawsuits, or fixing the problem.

This helmet is great. Quiet than my HJC, need to tilt slightly more forward at some wind because of how it flows, plenty of cool air flows through the helmet with it in full open mode. Loving it! The speaker pods work great.
