Oil filter and oil type?

Getting close too my 600 mile oil change on my 2013. Planing on getting Purolator Pure One PL14610 but have a question on the length what's the purpose of the longer filter? And final question is should I continue too use yamalube oil for a couple more oil changes tell I switch too a diffrent brand or can I switch now?

I'm about to change mine for 1st time too, albeit w less than 600miles.
No need to stick w/ YamaLube...I got the KN-204 oil filter and repsol 10w-40 dino oil.
Don't know what differences are between long and short filter.

The only way to go is Mobile oil filter and Valvoline Full syth. You guys got it all wrong!!! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Please search. TONS of oil and filter threads. Choose any that you like. As long as it is MC rated and is changed when it should be, you are fine. You can switch brands, synthetic or not anytime you want.

On length.... doesn't matter, you can use either... I usually get the shorter purolator... but the auto store was out one day, so I grabbed the longer one... tighter fit, but no issues... went back to shorter one every since... as to oil, switch to whatever you want now
