I put a few mods on over the weekend and wanted to share:
TBR Exhaust - black series aluminum canister
TBR JB Pro - Map 2 (stock filter, TBR exhaust)
PowderKeg Racing Block-off Plates
Direct Wire (Escort Radar)
The exhaust sounds amazing. It is loud and deep, I have yet to try the silencer that came with it. It was an odd feeling installing the JB. I am use to non-plug 'n play systems that have to be wired in parallel with the stock ecu (haltech on a protege). Nice change of pace!
I do have a couple of questions I'm hoping you guys can help me with:
1) The passenger seat seems to "wobble" more than it did before. I unscrewed the locking mechanism in order to feed the tuner harnesses through. However, I tightened the lock back down and there doesn't seem to have any adjustment to it. If I grab one of the front corners of the passenger seat, I can lift it up enough to squeeze a few fingers underneath it. The lock is clicking securely, the 2 plastic pins are fitting into the holes correctly, the rubber mounting feet are not obstructed, and the two hooks in the back slide under perfectly fine. Seeing as the lock is the only thing preventing upward movement at the front, that must be the culprit?
2) The bike fires right up and doesn't have any issues when I rev it up. However, I do notice that the idle is somewhat rough. I'm assuming this is from an out the box tune from TBR?
3) I thought I previously read that the air pump harness for the AIS system remains unplugged after removing the system. I have my harness unplugged and zip tied out of the way. Has this caused anyone problems in the long run with CELs or any other issues?
4) I've read some people calibrate the throttle position through the tuner. I thought you didn't have to mess with anything (plug and play). Is this an issue?
Thanks for the help. I included some pictures from my phone.
Edit: A few people have requested a How-To so I put one together. If you have any questions, please let me know.
