Key sticking?

Since I commute on the motorcycle and she sees all sorts of weather I just make it a part of every big maintenance interval:

1. Spray keyhole with silicone lubricant
2. Put in FZ6R key and twist to every single position a couple of times
3. Remove key an spray a tiny bit more
4. Forget about ignition or tank key issues

have u tried the second key that came with the bike??? that may point out the problem
