So I was out pleasure riding, went to neighboring town park and stopped for a smoke break
This guy in a pickup stops to ask "is that your bike?"
Then when I said yes he wants to know if it's an automatic? I'm like uh no it's a 6 speed. I thought he was saying that because I'm a female.
He then says "it is so quiet I hardly heard you drive by "

I still get bugged about my stock exhaust... when I explain that I don't want to wake my neighbors up because I leave so early and get home so late because I actually ride my bike instead of tralioring it to a show, or sitting around polishing the chrome... they understand.... lol

(but I do still have the stock exhaust and people ask me all the time why it's so quiet)

I did see an automatic bike (aprilia I think) last time I was at the dealer. That takes the fun right out of it.

There are automatic motorcycles.... they are called scooters, lol. (By Maryland law, if the engine size is above 49cc, it is considered a motorcycle no matter the styling).

I started riding on a 250cc scooter, but once I bought the ninja 650 and learned how to ride with a clutch, I'll never go back.

I don't think that was an insult. I get those. I'm chaining my bike to a post at work and a guy says "Don't know what you're worried about. It's not a Harley, nobody's going to steal it." I said. "Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking when I bought it!"

I'm checking the dumpster level at the local recycle center and the guy says "There's no more room, but you can put that Yamaha in there." I said, "Yep, but I'd have to drive over your Harley to get it in!"

I've had comments about how quiet my bike is. Personally, I like it that way. It's loud enough for me. In the Walmart parking lot, in first gear, heads turn. They know I'm there.

Personally, I like the way the 6R sounds. It's a sleeper. Relatively quiet and not obnoxious. Open the throttle and it kind of roars. I like it.

I think the oem exhaust is a bit too quiet. For safety reasons I prefer to have the exhaust on it and wide open so people know i'm there. It's pretty effing loud though, and does become a burden sometimes.

Aaaaand it got discontinued haha. I figured there were a couple autos out there. Heck, that prototype pure electric motorcycle was auto too. But, like pretty much everyone else said... Where's the fun in that? Auto is fitting for a scooter, but has no place on a real motorcycle imo.
