Hyperpro front fork springs

Just an update, I installed my Hyperpro fork springs and it is nigh and day! Probably the best mod I ever made well besides my exhaust!!

Definitely worth the money. Those and braided steel brake lines are the best bang for your buck performance mods. I love my Two Bros exhaust, but it was pretty hard to justify the expense to the wife. The Hyperpro springs and Galfer brake lines were a much easier sell to her.

I've been thinking about doing it too for a while. I change my oil in the front fork early this year for 20W. It help but I need a bit more support with all the extra weight from the luggage. A stiffer rear spring will be better than cranking the preload to 5 like I do...

Ordered from EPM Performance, part number for the front and rear springs with fork oil was: SP-YA06 SSC 042 B.

As NastyB said it is well worth the Money and it is like a whole new bike, better for bumps and handling it's just better all around. I have yet to do
The brake lines but that will be next.

To clarify, that part number is technically for a XJ6, but they use the same springs and forks as the FZ6R. If you have more questions shoot Claus at EPM an email. They're very helpful, knowledgeable and easy to deal with.

EPM lists different part numbers for the XJ6 and the FZ6R. Why would they do that if they were equivalent? I guess it could be some sort of marketing bullshit.

Also, I had progressive springs on a cruiser I used to have and thought they were great, but I thought linear springs were called for on sport bikes. Is it more of a personal preference thing rather than a rule?

They might have added a new spring set up specifically for the FZ6R since I bought mine in summer of 2011. :dontknow: They can't be too different than the XJ's.

If you go to EPM's site they lay out their reasoning for why they think progressive springs are better than linear. It is something of a matter of personal opinion. FWIW, the stock springs on the FZ6R are progressive as well.
