Hey everyone i've recently been having some gas mileage issues with my 2009 fz6r. Long story short i've discovered that when I park my bike at work with a basic cover over her the intense arizona heat is still getting to the tank. Heating it up and causing the tank to release the pressure (my $$$ in the form of gas). I've tried different octane gas hoping one would not evaporate as badly but it's not helping. I'm fairly certain this is the cause because on cloudy overcast days, or days when it's not so intense I get great gas mileage again. I ride the same when testing so I know it's not how I'm riding causing the poor mileage. On a normal day I average 45-51 mpg. And on a hot day when I can smell the gas when I remove the cover I get 33-36mpg.
My question for the forum is does anyone know of a good cover that reflects the heat?
And to answer the obvious answer I dont have the option of trees or shade at my work parking.
