Hi all, I'm new (obviously) just thought I'd say some stuff before getting all into posting and stuff..

So, yes I own an fz6r. And after not even two weeks of owning it.. I got rear ended. Yup. I was stopping at a red light and person came flying behind me probably 30k/h and hit me hard. I got launched onto their hood then slid off into the intersection. And now it's time for parts replacement.

Thankfully the frame is fine, and I only got a scrape on my shoulder after sliding halfway into the intersection (no traffic, phew!)

Initially I was just going to mention this with a question attached but then I saw how ga-ga you all get over pictures of the aftermath lol, so I'm separating this from the questions to add pictures in the next day or so, for all your viewing pleasure!

It's nice to have the bike all apart though because it gives me ideas for mods :D which makes me excited.

Anyway, I just thought I'd introduce myself with that story, and you can all look forward to some mangled bike photos soon. :)

Welcome! Sorry to hear about your incident. It's great that you're okay. Just watch out for those damn idiots on the road because they'll never watch out for you.

:welcome:

Well maybe starting out that way will be it and the rest of your years riding will be just lots of fun.

Can you lane split/filter in traffic in your state?

Great group of people here and a lot of great info and experience.

Sorry to hear that, great to have you here and talking about it in one piece.

I always watch my mirrors when I come to a stop and try to leave an opening in case I need to move due to those idiots out there that don't pay attention.

Glad your willing to get back on, not many would after that. It's a shame that we can't relax and ride, but it's worth it to me.

:welcome: Enjoy and Ride Safe!

Glad to hear that you and the bike are going to be ok.

Glad you wern't hurt too badly, and welcome to the group. I guess you'll be watching your mirrors when you stop from now on. It's even worse when there is any type of distraction(car pulled over by police, good looking girl, or just about anything that can attract attention). Fix that bike and get back out there soon:thumbup:

Welcome. Glad to hear you're ok, bikes can always be replaced.

Welcome to the "cult!" lol

I'm really glad that you are doing alright. Please be safe out there. Keeping a high level of situational awareness is a bikers life-line.

Get 'er fixed up, heal up yourself and get back out there and ride already!

:welcome: and yes, we do love to look at pictures! Almost as much as we love our smileys LOL.....
seriously, glad you got outta that ok.

Congratulations on the new ride. Thankfully you are OK. That sucks people don't pay attention while driving. They should be shot  They just have to pay attention and it's not very difficult. Too many distractions in todays world. Between cell phones, food and other distractions it's dangerous out there. Remember that we are invisible to the public. You have to be 110% defensive rider. It's still very satisfying to ride. I just love it. :welcome: to the greatest forum out there. A lot of great people that all care about each other.
