it lowered it a few hundered rpm . but at 17/46 your speedo woul be perty accurate . stock my was off about 8% hi i think 17/46 is a 6% drop in rpms . so speedo is off 2 %
Actually, according to my local Yamaha dealer, the sprockets have nothing to do with the speedometer. There's a sensor that tracks number of tire rotations per second and feeds that into the speedo.

Think there's a sprocket change and a speedo-healer in my future... :)

I don't see any wiring at the wheels and I'm fairly certain the FZ6 had a countershaft speed sensor. So any change in final gearing would change the speedo. Me thinks your local dealer is confused or maybe I am.

But that still wouldn't affect the speedo would it? The speed is measured by the rotation of the rear wheel and not the sprocket correct? So the only thing that is changing is the RPM at any given speed. Your speed should still be the same.

That I couldnt answer, I was just throwing out that I was 100% sure it was not taken from the front wheel.

But yeah unless it taken after the sprockets somewhere this will not fix the speedo..
