Can someone help me find this mod?

Hi everyone,

I'm completing the MSF course this weekend and have decided on a FZ6R as a first bike (first post too). As such, I have been pouring hours upon hours of research into the bike - sometimes I forget where I saw/read certain things.

Anyway, I could have sworn that, as unrealistic as it sounds, I have seen a picture of a modified FZ6R which had the exhaust pipe modded into two pipes coming out the back (under the seat), rather than the typical 'below the peg on the right side' position (which happens to be the thing that bugs me the most about this bike).

Instead of spending hours looking for it again (a few seconds on google didn't look too promising), I was wondering if anyone can confirm or deny that this is in fact possible to do on the FZ6R.

Thanks for the help

I thought about this a couple of months ago.
The closest I could find was a highpipe for a R6S aftermarket exhaust by Holeshot Performance.

I spoke to my local guy who does vintage customs and whatnot, all around mechanic/welder... It is possible, but it requires a whole lot more work than a regular exhaust. You need to decide on mounting points, and you will most likely need a tail light with blinkers and a different spot to mount your license plate because you are putting this where all that is happening.

After a long discussion with him -- he can do it for me, but it will take longer, and about $150 dollars more for highpipe with approx the same prices Marthy has for his setup. So essentially he does something real similar but entertained by idea for the highpipe. Seeing as how Marthy is the specialist round here I am saving for that -- less headache, and less $$.

FZ6 has better performance, but the FZ6R is more comfortable and better looking. With that said, the FZ6R is still plenty fast and I have never once regretted buying it - even when riding with R6, R1, and CBRs.
Id say looks are debatable, everyone has their own preferences but as far as comfort they are pretty much the same, the ergos are identical, only difference is the angle on the 6r handlebars
