If you listen to the radio chat about 45 sec in he says Meridon and you here him saying I-5 and heading into Puyallup and I live in Puyallup off Merdion

Just wondering if they're going to give him a package deal? If you add all the infractions up... Now this is only one speed limit, few shoulders riding, tones of line splitting... the thing that sucks is that you can go that much more then 100 miles long at those speed...

On the other hand, I don't really feel sorry for him... $$$

Do you think it's a heli?

Edit: Couldn't be because the camera orientation has a plane looking icon. I would guess maybe a UAV too. Unless someone in a plane was tagging speeders and decided to follow him for that long. I really wouldn't be surprised if they used UAV's for that now.

I think it's a manned aircraft, either fixed wing or heli. The camera orientation marker can be used for both. Both use gimbaled stabilized optical balls. The audio makes me think that some of the comments are coming from the tracking aircraft.

My guess would be a heli based on the slow flight at the end, but I can't really tell. A plane is still a possibility.

This guy wasn't an idiot after all! He knew the aircraft was up there and was about to bust all his buddies especially the one doing the wheelie so he takes off and it worked. The cops followed him, he takes the hit and his buddies are left alone. That or it was James Bond running from Ernesto Blofeld:) David

Its a Washington State Police aircraft hence the call sign "Smokey 4". They have a camera mounted on the aircraft which is similar to the UAV cameras. The two main guys you hear are the pilot and flight observer talking to each other. When it's quieter, its the flight observer talking to the ground dispatch and car officers.
