Sorry. I don't use a tank bag - just trying to help...For a strap mounted bag...you can have it!
Tank lock - fuel ring or magnetic for me.
My magnetic bag did scratch bad. But I just started putting a microfiber cloth under the base that the bag zips to. Bag comes off, base stays in place, and no more scratching.Pretty cool that the bike they have for their pic is, none other than the Yellow FZ6R!!!!
Straps are cheap, for those who just want something quick and affordable, can't be beat... I have the magnetic and some people swear they scratch up the tank... I've never had an issue.
I thought about doing this for my saddle bags. After my last trip I noticed some nasty scratches on the tail body work. Good idea. Do you know any that doesn't leave any nasty residue when you take it off? I only use the saddle bags a couple times a year and would want to be able to take it off when I'm not using them.Get some clear sticky backed vinyl and put where tank bag magnets hit. no scratching then.
Heck clear packing tape works in a pinch.
There are some medium level adhesives or use a static cling that leaves no residue.I thought about doing this for my saddle bags.
