Glad you're (relatively) OK.
If you have insurance, you should hope it's NOT salvageable. It would suck to have it repaired and then find some hidden damage a year later, like a crack in something that gets bigger in time. I would try to get a new bike out of this, but that's just my opinion...
Not that's any of my business, but it's customary for the buyer to arrange shipping. You can start here and get lots of quotes fro different companies:
uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Cars or Moves
Many people I ride with found their shippers through there.
It's spring and all bikes fetch top dollar. This is why I buy in the fall and sell in the spring. I'm hanging around here, waiting until August. Last September they were going for about 4000 - 4500 in my area, but I had two bikes in the garage and there was no room for third. I sold one and now...
I agree with you in theory, but in reality tomorrow does come for most people and they end up posting things on craigslist that sound like "need to sell asap to pay for electricity and heat, asking 18,000 for a 6,000 item because I financed it for 25% over 15 years. No lowballers." :D

Hold...
I don't think you should focus on the Goo Gone. My opinion:
1.) Paper towels messed up the clear coat. You can not rub paint with paper towels, not even with just water. Use microfiber towels next time and NEVER reuse them on paint again, even after washing them. I found out the hard way...
Goo Gone?
I have used it on at least a dozen cars and bikes, NEVER with any negative results (other than sometimes goo not being gone)
Are you confusing it with Goof Off?
Great advice, but it seems to mostly deal with the signs of neglect or improper service.
What about signs of abuse? What to look for to see if the the bike has been raced, wheelied, had burnouts etc.?
I have been through several bikes in several years and have formed an opinion it's not about the CCs but about the purpose of your riding. I need my 1000 V-Strom when accelerating up a steep mountain past a 1977 buick with my wife and luggage on the bike. But I hate the size, weight and a...
