I'm a transplant from West Palm Beach, Fl to Spring, Tx and will have it here soon. I'm up for a meetup and a ride sometime. It'd be nice to find some locals and learn some good roads. Getting rid of the Florida flat spot would be nice as well.
I wasn't ready for a bigger bike. I'll note it is not as fast as my old Suzuki sv650; but I did have a great amount of work done to that bike, GSXR fron forks, 180 wheel conversion, etc. The new Gladius didn't do it for me, Honda didn't have a stand up style 600 cc bike at the time, the Triumph...
Most stock tails actually have a reflective material inside of them. Shine a light at it with it off at night, and you'll see what I'm suggesting. I think this is a trick to give a ticket to anyone who swaps their tails, and does a fender eliminator.
When they botched the paperwork, they took off the prep fee, and gave me the service free, so I lucked out.
Bottom line, all i paid for first serivce was materials. And yes i'm that anal i take pictures. you should see what i do when i move into apartements. i've never lost more than $75...
7800 otd is a little high, but its your deal. Is it a brand new 11, or is it a 12?
For gear make sure you get stuff that fits with great stitching. I've seena bad stitch give up after a fall. Even Gear manufacturerers miss stuff, dont' believe me check out your closest cycle gear cheap rack.
I'm local and stock, almost broke in, (another 400 miles till I feel broke in.) I can't say I'm an excellent rider, but if you feel like setting a day for PBIR, (after you get 100% dialed in,) we can see how you do compared to a completely stock FZ6r, that's added a few pounds, (180 pound...
Florida dreams of 70 and below. We had a week of 40's this year. I got an hour at 42, and wasn't hampered by the temp here, although many locals complained it was too cold.
I dealt with that first dealer service, and although I could have done it myself, I opted to let them do it for the warranty. I also got a discount based ont he fact they messed up my loan paperwork and I had to go resign anyway. I'm not upset with my dealer for things that are obviously out...
I believe the response was it was the most comfortable, but the one that had the best of all three worlds, Comfort, fun factor and acceleration was the ninja. THe fz1 has more power but only in the upper rpm range, which leaves a weakness for on/off throttle in mid to low speed situations...
I'd love to hear this in person for the non-believers on the board, but i'm very intrigued myself. I'm used to 4 cylinder cars, so this is a bit different for me, but not much. I'm not the best with cams, but turbo projects, aren't as hard as NA setups, so you've caught my attention, either...
That's a great idea, or go to work for the biggest competitor. Check your RTA, I hear they have awesome unions. Believe it or not THe repional RTA where I'm at has some sick benefits, and still have a pension plan.
I think discussing other bikes in terms of speed for the dollar isn't a good way to roll on this topic. I'd say drop the SS bikes and stay ST. From what I hear the all around best competition out of the "Gentleman's" sport bikes was the Kawi Z1000, (but I thought it was too naked,) when you...
I felt like it was meant for someone over 6 foot. I'll simply put I chose the FZ6r over pricepoint, and I wasn't sure if I could handle it.
I will say this I miss the old school SV, and the gladius and GSX650 just don't compare.
