Yeah thanks I greatly appreciate it! My buddy may be stupid but he knows not to presusre me into anything, he has his brother to ride with if that's the case :P. Is it true the FZ6R can do 0-60 in 3.6 seconds?

Yeah I wanna take a course but their all filled untill August late, and I'm getting the bike Tuesday, so I'm going Tuesday to get my permit, with the wirtten test, and are going to ride with my buddy who has his endorsement, and after a month of that, take the Road test, I hope it's not hard :(

Please! Keep checking online or other places. The MSF can safe your life. Your partner having a permit does not make you safer on the road, or will help you during a critical situation. And even if he's a responsible person, your desire to ride faster or above your limits, can make you do stupid things. Even us, which are older people than you, had felt that before ... :D ...

When I bought my 1st bike in 2007, a Ninja 250, I kept it in the garage for one month. That's what I had to wait until I took the MSF. And even the week after, I took it easy and I only ride on the highway after 3 weeks almost.

I am not saying that you won't be ok if you take the course after, but the course will teach you things that your friend may or may not know.

Trust me! Once you see that beautiful Yamaha at home, you will want to ride it, not matter what!

And yes, with the right skills you can do 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds. And you can also loss your life in less than that. So be careful.

Yeah I'm not too worried yet! Lol.. but I do want it there for when I do get better, or when there is a situation where I need to get out of somebodies way or etc.

Also, I gotta keep in mind, I can get a Kawasaki Ninja 650R.. For 200$ cheper.. What do you guys think about that bike? I know the swingarm looks better atleast ;p haha.

most of us are partial to our bike.

plus read any shootout article between them, the fz6r takes the cake.

Honestly? I love the new 2012 look and seat and it is better with mpg, saves more in gas expenses. I also like the instruments cluster better.

However, I prefer the fz6r's sound and in-line engine. That is one of the reason why I bought the Street Triple.

The new Ninja has a twin engine. More power on lower rpms, so is fantastic for city riding. But has more vibrations (Kawasaki claims were significantly reduced on 2012 model) and sound is different. Again, I like the in-line sound better, i.e. : fz6r or Street Triple.

But the old 2011 or "R" Kawi, vibes a lot and not at same level, in my opinion, with the Yamaha.

You may do a test ride on each one which I highly recommend to anyone regardless of what bike you are planning to get anyway. Each body and weight is different to that may change your opinion about the bike.

They're saying they won't allow me to test ride a bike there? Also.. what's a street tripple?

Hmm... yeah, maybe because you don't have the MSF. Another reason to get it 1st, lol ...

This is a Triumph 2012 Street Triple:

Yeah I think, I'm going to buy the 2012 FZ6R Raven... Now the only thing on my mind is, do I want to spend 8 grand on a bike? Or isnce it's my first bike get a 5 grand bike, and just ride that.. Hmmm..

Ennis if you race dirt bikes, then you already have a great skill of bikes in general. i'm not saying you jump on a road bike and go crazy like the dirt, but more than likely you will be doing it sooner than later. with that i'd say get the CBR. in terms of performance it's a much better bike than FZ6R. if you do get a FZ6R, i'd suggest try finding a decent shape used one instead of blowing $8k on a new one. low mileage ones are always showing up for $4-5k. good luck

what class and bike are you racing?

I have a 011 CRF450R.. And In expert class.

with those skills and a bigger bike (than a 250), if you do get a FZ6R and happen to take a ride on anyone's supersport (CBR, GSXR etc.) you are gonna want to sell the FZ6R and get something else. either way you go, just start off slow to learn. you know from dirt bikes you didn't just jump on and start doing doubles and triples, or did you haha

Lol, nah not really, My first dirt bike was a CR250R.. Haha.. And then I rode a Cr500 for about 2 months, then a CRF250R.. Then now this CRF450R.. The problem is I don't know street bikes so well.. And if I get a personal loan and bought one from craigslist or something, I could possibly be lied to the face, and walk home with a jacked up bike, that's why I wanna get one from a dealer.. So I think I'm going to go with the Managers CBR600RR.. ATLEAST I think it's a RR.. Might be the other one, fi4 or w/e.. Eitherway I wanna save money, on loan and insurance, and the CBR does that just for me.. Since you know these bikes, for years, 04-06.. What type of mileage should these bikes have?
