Yes, jeans suck as protective wear. They provide no impact protection, and very light abrasion resistance. They're better than shorts, but nowhere near as good as textile or leather riding pants. I consider it some kind of cultural oddity that jeans have been the "standard" riding pants of motorcyclists. Basically, you should wear jeans if you know for a fact you will never, ever crash, or you don't mind road rash and bloody, banged up knees that require stitches.Do jeans really just disintigrate like that? I wear, Helmet, Jacket, gloves, boots, and jeans.
