Weird 1/4 mile ???

Found this site for cars and put in the fz6r's specs just for fun...

The quarter mile acceleration time of a car that weighs 467 pounds and has 78 horsepower is 10.577 seconds.
The speed is 128.879483511767 mph

i think its kinda weird the top speed is the same as what our top speed tacking out is..... 128.8 did they gear the fz6r for the perfect 1/4mile with no rider lol

Does this calculator take into consideration the weight of the rider/driver??

I imagine the difference is immaterial when comparing a car with a driver vs. just a car, but in a motorcycle situation the weight of the rider may be material in the calculations.

A 4,000 pound car with a 200 pound driver is a 5% increase in weight.

A FZ6R with a 200 pound rider is almost a 43% weight increase.

Just a thought...

ya im not sure imo weight is weight and the calculator may add that in without us knowing but the weight i put in was the bike alone if you look in my weight thread you will see some with bike and rider weights http://www.600cc.org/forum/f89/fz6r-weight-reduction-list-25715/#post344030

i just thought it was odd that a bike without a rider and stock using this calc comes out to the exact top speed of the fz6r at redline haha

I have allways thought its unfair that motorcycles drag a full 1/4 mile.
Technically they are half scale from cars.Off road drags are allways 1/8th.
Motorcycles still hold their own against cars.
But im thinking thats the defining reason a bike hasnt ran a 1/4 mile in the 4 second range like top fuel and funny cars.Its CC vs CI.
If you scale them down to 1/2, it puts the bike in a completely different category of performance

FZ6R weight: @ 465 plus my weight with riding gear @ 225 equals 690 lbs.
FZ6R wheel power : @ 65 hp.
Estimated 1/4 mile and speed: 12.802 seconds @ 106.49 mph which is fairly acurate...

ya ya ya lol im just saying its weird.... if you take the shaft hp 78hp and the stock weight of just the bike which is 468lbs and put it in you get a top speed of exactly the fz6rs top speed...down to the tenths of a mph you cant tell me they didn't plan that its fucking weird lol

If you gear anything too short, i.e. vehicle hits redline in top gear before the finish of the overall distance, you will be travelling @ maximum speed when you cross the finish line. I would be willing to bet that with taking the website's calcs into consideration and your data inputs, the 6R tops out well before the finish line and stays pegged at redline for the last bit of dragstrip. Just my $0.02

When Motorcycle News did their 2009 shootout with the FZ6R, they got 12.49 seconds at 104.5mph.

Ahhhh yes, I guess they would not know the gear ratios or redline for the bike if you did not put it in. Interesting, and very coincidental :thumbup:
