So I hinted in some earlier threads I had a secret mod I was working on. Well this is it. I heard about a sweet feature that seems to be fairly exclusive to the Triumph motorcycles: they use an ODB2 port for diagnostics, which means that they are able to use a bluetooth ODB2 diagnostic scanner like this one, which is compatible with the Torque app for Android. So seeing as how I just got a Nexus 7 tablet from my lovely wife as an anniversary present, I decided it was only natural to mount it to my bike. A RAM mount and tablet holder later (I used a [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001RHVS8I/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00"]ball base mount[/ame] for the triple tree nut instead of the handlebar mount shown there), and I've got the set up as shown below.
I should say, that even though Torque is designed for vehicles, it works pretty darn well on my bike. Below are screen pics I took, as well as a Utube video of me explaining a bit about it. I should note in the below pics and vid, I forgot to turn up the brightness of my screen. So unless it's in direct sunlight, it's very readable. Let me know what you think.
