Smart turn system

Okay, so I got a smart turn system module a while back and just got around to installing it. It cancels your turn signals after lane changes and turns and has a timeout feature. Install was a little bit of a pain,but not too difficult (wires are under the air cleaner so lots of stuff to move and take apart). The problem I ran into is that you have to put spacers in the turn signal switch to keep the switch from going far enough to make you have to manually cancel by pushing in. Left turn signal spacer works fine, but the way the switch is designed there is not plate under where the right spacer is located so the metal switch plate moves right and pushes the foam spacer under a small opening. Tried blocking the opening, but it either makes it unusable or pushes out anyways. So question for anyone that may have done this mod or worked on their switch is, can the switch be disassembled somehow to deactivate the switching plate? Not sure if the plate has anything to do with the actual actuator. I was getting frustrated since I was trying to button it up. I'm sure I can eventually come up with something to defeat it, but thought I'd ask just in case someone already tried.
