Not sure if anyone else has just received the email from Sena (that has them)

but firmware vers 5 is now available and included finally is universal intercom!

I'm going for a ride hopefully (weather dependant) on Sunday with a bloke that has a Scala so I shall see how it works.

We are pleased to announce the release of the version 5.0 firmware of the SMH10 with major enhancements in functions and features such as Universal Intercom and Advanced Noise Control™.

- Universal Intercom: You can have an intercom conversation with non-Sena Bluetooth headsets using the Universal Intercom™ function.

- Advanced Noise Control™: It is equipped with wind noise suppression and intelligent Noise Gate in the intercom to limit the interference of wind noise and background noise while riding.

- Sidetone: If this feature is enabled, you can hear what you are speaking during an intercom conversation or a phone call.

You can upgrade your firmware using the new Device Manager v1.4.4 for Windows and v1.9.4 for Mac users.

The built techno. A cheap, but functional built-in Bluetooth helmet. I was kinda forced to buy it since that's what my brother has.

Oh,k. I have a Bilt helmet too (Bilt Fusion), but mine isn't bluetooth. I have a SMH5 with SMH10 speakers in my helmet and love it. Certainly not a top of the line helmet, but I actually like it.

SMH5 had a recent update as well. Have had mine down in the garage since the end of the season and recently brought it up to charge and check for updates. New update added speed dialing and music sharing. If you're only getting a bluetooth headset for music/phone calls smh5-2 is the way to go. Just be sure to add the large speakers. Will run about $120 for speaker upgrade and smh5-2. Battery life is great. I only used on commutes to work a few times (1/2 hour each way) and only had to charge once. Just make sure the helmet you have can accommodate the speakers. Mine had an opening at each ear where I velcro attached the speakers. Only advantage I see with the smh10 over smh5 is better range, battery life and I think you can conference call on smh10 between headsets. If this is solely for one person or you and a passenger I'd go smh5 all day.
