If you go there, you'll love it. I was stationed there for 2 years and absolutely loved it there. I lived half way between Aberdeen and Dundee which are two large town/cities there. I spent many of my weekends in Edinburgh though. The town I actually lived in was called Edzell, Scotland. Tiny little town in the highlands.Thinking about possibly moving to Scottland.

Myself I have never been to the U.K. although my sister -in- law lives in Ireland. I do have family (England/Ireland/New Zealand) some day I hope to go visit. I dohave a real soft spot for England,,my Mum was from there.:uk:
If I could do a few things over I regreate not going years ago when I was single and lots of spending money. So I suggest you do it,,go to Scotland.

You're only young once. Do it before you get a significant other and/or kids.
Meant to say to that the roads are perfect for bike riding. Very well maintained no matter how desolate. Lots of twisties. Wish I had my 6r when I was there. Gas was expensive even when I was there until the end of 1996.

I was at RAF Feltwell from about 95-97
got up to Scotland a few times, loved it..
don't think I could live there now, but I hope to get a few weeks "holiday" back over there some day
hope you like drinking beer and playing darts... it's the best way to spend your weekend evenings
That's too funny, I was at RAF Edzell 94-96. Scotland is one of the few places outside the US that I would live. I remember the name Feltwell but not sure I was ever there. I was down to Lakenheath on my way to London a few times.
yes, little satellite base about 5 miles from Lakenheath... had dorms... the TMDE lab (where I worked) and the munitions, that's about it...
My ex went to RAF Menwithhill after Scotland. Thay had protesters that lived right off base.
Roads were great when I lived there. Seems they actually used the Road Tax to fix roads, at least thenMove to scotland. I live there, good biking roads when they get fixed

my gf is going to school in September for masters in Edinburgh. i have to decide if im going to move there for a year while she goes to school there or stay home in michigan. if i stay in MI we are not going to do a long distance thing so essentially the later decision means breaking up :/

Stop by Stirling castle. One of the nicest in Scotland. William Wallace monument is in Stirling as well (Braveheart).
