Post up your Google Maps rides/routes

I thought I'd start a new thread for this. I've been going on some pretty amazing rides with friends and family lately and I've found the Google Maps route planning feature to be a good tool in remembering some of these routes. I thought we could post them up here and anyone in your area could duplicate it or build on it, etc...

Here's a ride I did yesterday with my Dad, Uncle, and a fiend of the family. All of them were on 750lb + HD's and two had passengers. They happen to be in front of me the whole ride so some of the twisties were taken at a REALLY slow pace. But it was a beautiful ride. Especially the Mesa Grande Rd. portion. I hadn't been on that road before. TIGHT and NARROW are understatements. But a lot of fun.

My Favorite Route

Takes about 4-5 hours, high mountain passes, some nice high speed sections and twisties. A sweet ride.

Nice routes.

The funniest thing on our ride Monday came up on Mesa Gande Rd. Coming around a tight right hander everyone starts slowing down. As I come around the turn I see why. Big brown cow walking along the side of the road on the right. Look to the left, another cow and a bull also on the side of the rd.

Me and my buddies rode this a couple times. Not too bad for a "I'm bored, lets ride" kinda day. Lots of straights and some good turns.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread since I've been using GoogleMaps more again. This is the route I'm planning on doing tomorrow. I've been on all the roads before, but never looped them all together. I may have my wife with me and she's been wanting to go on some different roads that she's never been on. I like using GoogleMaps for trying to plan new routes for group rides and such. It's great.

Just a few days riding...

This is the route we took for a charity ride through B.C. just a few weeks ago. We left on a Tuesday, and got home on Saturday. It was an incredible trip. The bike is stock and was more than adequate with a tail and tank bag. The only thing I'd change is the seat...not so comfortable for a long day riding. The total distance was about 2500 km.

The pics are: 1. home, 2. ferry from Vancouver Island to the mainland (Tsawassen), 3. Columbia glacier, 4. Somewhere on the Icefields Parkway between Jasper and Lake Louise (incredible scenery, just had to stop for the photo op).

I know I'm digging up an old thread, but I just had a crazy idea tonight. I know the member map says no routes, and I respect that, but how about a collective map to toss up routes — along with a tutorial on how to "draw a line along roads". I think it would be cool to have a central "database", so to speak, of our favorite routes.
