My shifter pedal doesn’t reset after I shift down around 1 and 2nd gear

When I’m city riding around 1 2 and 3rd gear especially from 2 to 1st when I push my shifter pedal down it doesn’t bounce back up I have to put my foot under it to pop it back into place. Does anyone know why please help. It started happening after it popped out from a loose screw

Probably need to adjust the rod length a bit longer from the shift lever to the clutch arm.
