I have been watching a 2011 FZ6R head that I have been wanting to buy and do some gasket matching on, a port and polish along with a valve job and a light shave to it. I would also put on a Fz6 cam with the install.
So, why do this? Because when I took the airbox off I noticed that the casting on the stock head needed some love but I want to keep the stock head in place and untouched incase it is needed later on.
I can get the head for around $300 and have about $500 more to play with for the install. I know a good shop that can do the tear down, resurface, valve job and what not. I will be doing the port matching and polishing myself.
I know the gains wont be a ton but I like dong stuff like this but am I thinking this is easier said that done?
