Fork oil

I'm changing the fork oil, so when I dumped the old oil, one side was as brown/black in color, but the other one was more like whitish/milky.. Any reason why?
Also, is it possible to flush them before putting the new oil in (and how), or just let them sit up side down for a while and then put new oil into?
And lastly, I'm thinking of putting 10wt as lots of the roads in our area are bad and bumpy and it all transfers up to the bike and the rider, so maybe the lesser wight will be better for softening the ride...

I changed my fork oil recently and had the same coloration. It looked bad. I guess it's the Yamaha special blend. I put in 10wt oil as well but I'm on the heavy side. My results were spot on. From reading and advice, if your rebound is too stiff it will drift out on turns. Too soft will dive in.

Didn't change it for a while... maybe 25k miles or more. I do remember though, seeing a white color in the stock oil,
I'm about 160lb, but often ride 2up which makes it like ~280
