EDIT: We have adjusted the start time to 8am to account for some people that need to make it home to go to work. I don't mind early rides myself. Just don't party too hard Friday night!!
If you don't know me I'm the guy that made a bunch of "how to" videos for our exhausts and power commander and stuff. Yeah, I've been away from the boards a while, had a son, stuff like that. Life goes on.
Anyway, a few locals are (weather permitting) planning the first group ride of the season. Gaithersburg Riders is a facebook group a lot of us communicate with. Even though we have 250cc, liter sportbikes, and occasionally huge cruisers, the group is dominated by FZ6R riders. All riders are welcome.
Here is the post I put on facebook. Only a few people have responded so far and we might move the time earlier to accommodate Saturday plans and work schedules, but I'll keep anyone who wants to come informed. You can meet at my house or the Taco Bar Gas Station.

My friends, weather permitting we are planning a ride for Saturday April 2 to Harper's Ferry. I've been there many times but never to the surrounding areas, so this will be part new adventure. A few notes:
Arrive on time with your gas tank filled, chain lubed, and tires pressurized.
If you have a loud exhaust please fit a silencer or oem exhaust. Excessively loud exhausts can be tiring on long rides and they have noise ordinances in parks. Personally I will be running my silencer, no one had any problems with it on my ride through Skyline.
Bring supplies, whether a back pack or saddle bags. Stops might be on the side of the road for a quick leak, water, or snack. Some basic tools and first aid supplies would also be smart.
Wear gear. I won't tell you how to dress, but I dress for the fall. These roads are known for taking out bikers with blind corners, decreasing radius turns, wildlife, and gravel. I recommend wearing something that can take a hit.
We will ride The Pace. I love going fast as much as the next guy and the highway ride might get going pretty quick, but once we get into the hills we want to enjoy the ride. Leave your ego at the door and ride safe. Enjoy the road. Faster riders will be allowed to lead while more reserved riders can hang back. If you haven't read The Pace I recommend it.
I have roughly estimated a 2 hour ride up and 2 hours back down. Add in stops and the possibility of traffic, call it 5.
