Has anyone ever upgraded to the Vortex or Driven gas caps? I want to upgrade to the Driven, but wondering if I can then cap off the fuel vent line under the tank. The Driven cap has a built in vent. I'd imagine that I'd have to leave the overflow tube, but can't find a definitive answer out there about the vent hose. I don't see why I'd need the bottom vent hose if it vents up top. I hate the run out on the driveway from the vent tube on hot days. Eats away at the blacktop which is no bueno. Not to mention the 10 or so people at work that tell me my bike is leaking something and it smells like gas. LOL! Here's a link to the driven gas cap base. Ugh. Or I have to fillup on the way to work and come out to leave in the afternoon to see my hard earned $$$ on the ground. :spank: Of course all this could be avoided if management would just give me a fancy, covered parking spot.

I usually Park under a carport type thing at work, but depends how many bring their bikes. Not many Park under there unless there's a chance of rain.Ugh. Decided not to get one of the driven or other expensive ones at this time. I found a seller called gascapdude that made billet caps for around $40. It looks nice (not as nice as the driven one, but still nice), but seems like it may have venting issues. I have only had my bike out 2 times since installing it and when I unscrew the lid I can hear the air release. It's a vented cap, but don't think it vents as well as stock. Need to put more miles on and see if it causes any issues. Nismos14 put one on his GSXR 750. I haven't talked to him to see if he had any issues. I figured for $40 it was worth the gamble.
Scott, Do those lock? It doesn't look like the driven ones do? I would be concerned about a non locking gas cap...

No lock that's why I got it. As far as I know all the aftermarket racing ones are non locking. My truck and car tanks are unlocked as well. Garaged at home, work is safe. Don't Park it too many other places. Don't know why everyone worries about a locking tank when most cars don't lock unless you buy a locking cap.
Any luck with the venting issue?

Haven't had my bike out. Been too busy and weather isn't good enough to chance riding in 20 miles. Eventually I'll get time and good weather.
