Since I was self taught, it took me longer than I care to admit to even realize that it wasn't necessary to keep both my feet over the levers. My shin muscles would get so tired on longer trips, and the day I realized I could flare my toes outward and down was a huge relief and made riding so much more comfortable.
The first time I touched a toe was on my 6R last year. After the first time I learned to keep my feet back on corners and only put them out when braking, shifting, and on straight stretches. Soon you'll be hitting the feeler peg on the bottom of the foot pegs. You'll either have to get used to that, get different pegs, or stop leaning so sharp!
